**Pershing State Park offers a wonderful three mile boardwalk which
winds through the last remaining wetlands and Great Plains Prairie.
**Pershing State Park is also the site of the Pershing Balloon Derby
held during Labor Day weekend!

Gen. John J. Pershing Boyhood Home State Historic Site
This historic site is located in Laclede, Mo., which is on U.S. Hwy. 36
half way between Hannibal and St. Joseph. At the intersection of U.S.
Hwy. 36 and Hwy. 5, turn north onto Hwy. 5 and continue for one mile,
following the signs to the historic site which is one block north of the
town square.
Locust Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site
The sign for this historic site is located three miles west of Laclede
or three miles east of Meadville on U.S. Hwy. 36. Turn north at the
highway sign onto Danube Drive and travel one mile north then one half
mile east on Dart Road to the parking lot. There is a walking path to
the covered bridge from the parking lot.
